My favorite Bags and shoes from Frye spring 2018

After working with Frye for a couple years, I’ve gotten to know the brand well, and one of the things that Frye excels at is its leather. It’s entirely rich and sumptuous, and Frye knows the right treatment to make each bag and shoe look and feel great. So many brands have distinct qualities that make the brand work, and for Frye, it’s the quality of the leather and the brand’s timeless appeal. just in time for spring, we got a look at some of the newest and best pieces Frye has to offer, and I’m here to share my personal favorites.

Sacha Zip Shootie ($358)

The bags Frye offers for spring range from classic leather with a Western twist to a compact nylon crossbody. I am partial to the leather bags, because Frye is so good when it comes to leather, and many of you may not know, but I love a country vibe; my mom went to school in Kentucky and her family grew up on a farm so country music and check outs to the farm were part of my childhood. Without going over the top, Frye has a way to bring in an American classic twist, and I could not love it more.

Frye Jacqui Hobo $428

Hobos are such an underrated handbag shape—they’re classic, they fit well over your shoulder, and they’re usually one of the most usable shapes. While everyone is giving attention to crossbody bags and compact designs, the hobo is still a strong contender, and I really like the Jacqui Hobo. The leather is so smooshy and really just divine; I kept touching it. Frye has a very iconic American heritage, which is incorporated into its designs, and on this bag, there is a Western-inspired buckle on the shoulder strap. Otherwise, this bag’s design is straightforward and clean, with an ample shoulder drop—the most important aspect for me when it comes to hobos.

Frye Carson tote $298

Frye Carson tote ($298) and Lillian Western Bootie ($328)

Some bags are there to provide more usability than others, and the Frye Carson tote is a quintessential tote that would be terrific as an everyday bag or work bag. I love how lightweight it is, because let’s be honest, when you want to carry extra items like your laptop and possibly even a change of shoes, you need a bag that won’t weigh you down, but you still want it to look good. The Carson tote comes in four colors: black, cognac, white and sunrise.

Frye Ivy Crossbody ($148)

There are other bags as well: a nylon crossbody that is compact, lightweight and perfect for daily use, and the Jacqui Crossbody, which is smaller than the Hobo I talked about above but still offers plenty of storage space and the same amazing design. but now, I want to talk shoes, because as much as I love Frye bags, I am such a Frye shoe girl (and so is Millie—she already has a pair of Frye boots, and they are the cutest thing ever).

Frye Ellen Deco Buckle short ($398)

Sacha Zip Shootie ($358)

And the shoes, well, this group of shoes is beyond gorgeous! since moving to Florida, I haven’t worn as many boots as I did in NYC, but I want to change that because these shoes are that good. Vlad and I both kept saying how terrific each pair is, and I had a hard time narrowing down my favorite (I got it to these three: 1, 2, 3.). The aesthetic of Frye radiates an American classic vibe that matches with an edgy or boho vibe, and the bags and shoes can work for so many different personal styles.

Frye makes some of the most comfortable and stylish shoes I own, which match my personal style so well—they’re laid-back, classic, and made for everyday wear. I always tell you that I’m a jean and t-shirt girl, and Frye works so well with my vibe. My three favorite boots including a classic black pair, the Lillian Western Bootie, a studded, amazing Ellen Deco Buckle Short, and my personal favorite pair, which is what my shoe wardrobe needs—the Sacha Zip Shootie.

There is a different vibe for each boot, and each is just as comfortable as the next. I love that each bag and shoe works together and creates a new look, while each also works alone very well. You can shop all Frye bags and shoes at thefryecompany.com now.
