The 25 best Bags of new York fashion Week spring 2017
fashion critics sometimes crow about how we now live in a post-trend world, but I’m not sure that’s entirely correct when it comes to handbags. While it’s true that the market now provides more variety than ever, it’s still possible to find clear commonalities in a seasonal round of accessories, and that was absolutely true of the bags that came down the runway at new York fashion Week spring 2017 last week.
First and foremost, saddle bags aren’t going anywhere, and that’s probably a good thing. The shape is simple and functional, and it looks good in a variety of sizes and holds more than you’d think. also notable were the number of printed and patterned bags that graced the season’s new York runways; consumers have lately seemed to want something a little more interesting and personal than a plain, solid color on a bag, and it looks like the city’s designers intend to give it to them.
New York tends not to lead when it comes to bag trends, though, so we’re still anticipating the real fireworks in Milan and Paris in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out over two dozen of spring 2017’s best bags below.
